Firestation June 2009

At Drew's end of the year party at school this year there was a slideshow of each of the kids with pictures and what they wanted to be when they grow up. Drew's response this year was a fireman.
School is out now and we now have more time to meet up with our mommy's group. We kicked off the summer with a trip to the firestation.
Here he is standing next to the tire on the truck. He is now taller than the tires. The tires have always been one of the things he was most intrigued with the last few years at the firestation.
Click here to see last year's pictures from the fire station. It is neat to see how much he has grown and changed in the last year!
This was Jill's first outing with the mommy's group. She slept right through it.Monday, June 15, 2009
Bedtime Prayers

Before Jill was born, Drew would Thank God for "baby sister" every night in his prayers *twice* every night. He would say thank you for baby sister after mommy and daddy and after he mentioned Baby Cooper. I wondered if after the baby came if he would still thank God for her twice.
Now that baby sister is here, most nights Drew will hold her hands when he says his prayers at night. He now Thanks God for "baby Jillian" after mommy and daddy, and then "baby sister" after Baby Cooper still.
Of course bonding time is over when the baby starts to cry.

Mae Faces
Although Drew was her sweetheart, Drew never knew that his Great Grandma's name was "Mae" When he named his baby doll "Baby May" we thought it was sweet, but he was naming her after the month of May rather than his Great Grandma.Since Jillian was born we noticed something. Every once in a while she makes what we call "Mae faces". She has a few specific looks that makes her look so much like her Great Grandma Anna Mae. Sometimes we think Great Grandma is in there! These looks have been hard to get on camera, but for those that knew Grandma, keep an eye out in the pictures for these "Mae faces"

Totally Sweet - 1 week old
Jillian in one of the outfits that Uncle Matt and Aunt Amber sent and laying on one of my Daisy Layne Boutique burp cloths.
At her 1 week checkup she weighed 7 lb 6 oz and was 20 3/4" inches long.Within one week she was only 1 oz away from her birthweight which was great! They want babies to regain birth weight within 10-14 days, so she was ahead of schedule!
Her weight was in the 25th percentile, height 75th, and head circumference 50th.
We had never seen such low percentiles! Drew was always in the 90's for everything. We will see how much she has grown at her 1 month checkup!
